Why we created YapBooking
Finding a hotel for your dog shouldn't be the hardest part of planning a trip.
But that's exactly what happened to us.
Bernardo and Natalia have a dog, Sasha. Every time they traveled, the same ritual repeated itself: opening dozens of tabs, searching for hotels, comparing services, looking for reviews and trying to work out which option would be best.
In the end, the feeling was always the same: we had spent hours searching and still didn't know whether we had seen every option, or whether there was a hotel even better suited to Sasha.
That's when we realized the problem wasn't a lack of dog hotels.
The problem was that the information was scattered. Finding hotels, comparing them and figuring out which one made the most sense took too much time and too much effort.
That's how YapBooking was born.
We created a platform that makes it easier to discover dog hotels, compare different options and find the one that best suits your dog — all in one place.
Because we believe booking a hotel for your dog should be as simple as booking a hotel for yourself.
Today we're four co-founders, between Lisbon and Toulouse, building YapBooking at night and on weekends while balancing this project with our jobs.
We're still a small team, but our ambition is big: to make finding a dog hotel much simpler for every dog owner.
